We believe that any challenge, no matter how complex, can be solved through a clever design of innovation. The most successful innovations which manage to change systems and generate positive impact, never come in a single part but combine technological, social, political and natural elements. In other words, a systems perspective. This is the only way we can tackle the complex 'wicked problems' that we face. We must build a society for the 21st century that can tackle both the local and the global issues.
However, just aiming for sustainability is not enough anymore, since we have crossed so many of our boundaries. Our societies are increasingly under pressure and the natural world that we are part of is suffering at our hands. In a business-as-usual scenario, it is a matter of time that tipping points are reached and our systems and institutions break. But it is not too late.​​​
